Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Palette

A recent addition that I’ve made to my make up kit is this gorgeous finishing powder trio from Hourglass.  It’s a selection of shades, that each recreate a certain type of lighting.  Dim light gives a soft focus, blurring effect.  Incandescent light gives a brightening glow.  Radiant light gives a warm highlight.

I’m still experimenting with this palette, but I’m loving it and can see myself investing in some of the full size shades which are sold individually.

I purchased my palette from Space NK.

Claire Gordon for Daily Record

I recently did make up and hair on a shoot for the Daily Record interview with Claire Gordon.

Claire is an up and coming Glasgow actress who is currently in the new littering campaign adverts, and has also had parts in Neds and Waterloo Road.

She was a lovely girl and has a bright future ahead of her.

Nicola McLean

I had the very glamorous Nicola McLean in my make up room a few weeks ago.

Nicola was going to the Young Scot Awards and went for bronzed contoured skin and a strongly lined eye make up.

STV Glasgow – The Riverside Show

I love Glasgow’s new STV channel, especially The Riverside Show!

The presenters David, Jennifer, Storm, Laura and Gill are all lovely and a pleasure to work with.

Pamela and I love popping in to do their hair and make up for the show, and its really nice to see something new for Glasgow.

Wicked Themed Make Up

I love a themed make up look and the chance to do something a bit different, while still keeping my client gorgeous is always fun!

Kirsty was going to see the musical Wicked and we decided on a glamorous green eye for the occasion. I used several green pigments pressed over eye paints to give a vibrant, multi toned effect. We were both really pleased with how it turned out.

White Graphic Eyeliner

I love working on photo shoots and getting the chance to do different styles of make up!

While still keeping Gillian’s skin warm with bronzer and peach blush, I decided to add a graphic white liner to give the look an edge, and I loved the way it turned out.

Danielle Armstrong TOWIE

The cast of TOWIE are regulars in Fake Bake Hair and Beauty Boutique when they visit Glasgow.

Danielle is a really gorgeous girl, she just wanted a nice glowy make up look for a dinner that she was going to later.

I used peaches and bronzes on her eyes & cheeks, to keep her look light, but still warm and glamorous looking.

Dark Cat Eye Make Up

With this make up look I went for a really dark and bold eye, using blacks and dark chocolate browns, completed with a full volume lash.

To compliment this make up I kept the skin flawless and lips neutral, to balance the drama of the eye look.

Lana Del Ray Inspired Vintage Style Make Up

Another celeb inspired look on lovely Christina.

This time I went for a classic cat eye and red lip, inspired by Lana Del Ray.

I used very soft neutral tones to contour the eye, and then really made a statement with the eyeliner and perfect red lip.

Kim Kardashian Glamour Inspired Make Up

A recent make up I did on gorgeous Christina, inspired by Kim Kardashian’s glamorous, yet neutral toned make up look.

I kept the colour palette neutral using bronzes, browns and peach tones. Finished with strong black eyeliner and a double pair of lashes for extra flutter!
